Revelation 14:1-5

May 5, 2013

INTRODUCTION

.  When John takes us up on Mount Zion, it is to see our Lord Christ and His Kingdom.  Notice…

  1. I.                ON MOUNT ZION WE SEE THE LAMB OF GOD
    1. THIS IS A VISION OF THE VICTORIOUS CHRIST

Now in Chapter 14, we have the other side of Chapter 13.

In Chapter 13 is the beast; in Chapter 14 is the Lamb.

In Chapter 13 is the false;  in Chapter 14 is the true.

In Chapter 13 is the mark of the beast;  in Chapter 14 is the mark of God.

In Chapter 13 is the work of idolatry; in Chapter 14 is the worship of the True Lamb of God.

In Chapter 13 are those who go down into damnation and perdition; in Chapter 14 are those who are redeemed from the earth and who are taken up into heaven.

In Chapter 13 are those that follow the beast in all his ways.  In Chapter 14

Are those who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.

In Chapter 13 is the number of the beast, 666; in Chapter 14 are the 144,000.

  1. WE NEED ALWAYS TO LOOK FOR THE VICTORY IN JESUS

  1. II.              ON MOUNT ZION YOU HEAR THE VOICE OF GOD

  1. JOHN SAID HIS VOICE WAS LIKE THE SOUND OF MANY WATERS

    1. This reminds us of the unmistakable sound of God’s voice
    2. When God speaks we know it

  1. JOHN DESCRIBES HIS VOICE AS THE SOUND OF MANY HARPS BEING PLAYED
    1. This reminds us of the melody of God’s voice
    2. His voice can be gently and soothing
