THE TWO WITNESSES
Revelation 11:3-13

INTRODUCTION

God always has His witnesses.
Here at the mid-point of the Tribulation God raises up two amazing witnesses.

I. THEY ARE UNSEEN BY JOHN

They are described to him by a mighty angel

II. THEY ARE UNSURPASSED IN HISTORY

A. THE WORLD HAS NEVER SEEN WITNESSES LIKE THESE

B. THESE WITNESSES ARE THE ONLY ONES ON EARTH WHO CAN WITHSTAND THE VIOLENCE AND POWER OF THE ANTICHRIST AND HIS REGIEME

III. THEY ARE UNRESTRICTED IN THEIR WITNESS

A. THEY HAVE THE POWER TO DESTROY THEIR ENEMIES

B. THE ATTITUDE AND ACTIONS OF THEIR MINISTRY ARE TOTALLY

OPPOSITE FROM CHRISTIAN MINISTRY AS WE KNOW IT TODAY

This is the age of grace and mercy
This Eleventh Chapter of the Revelation takes us into a different world
It is not the same world as we live in now during this dispensation of grace
It is more like the world of ancient Israel in the days of the old theocracy

C. THESE PROPHETS WILL BE EFFECTIVE

They are invincible until they complete their ministry

IV. THEY ARE UNNATURAL IN THEIR RESURRECTION

A. THESE TWO WITNESSES WILL BE RAISED FROM THE DEAD WITH THE ENTIRE WORLD WATCHING (VV.9-11)

B. THEN THEY ARE TAKEN UP TO HEAVEN ON A CLOUD WHILE THE WORLD WITNESSES THE EVENT

V. THESE TWO WITNESSES ARE UNIDENTIFIED IN THE REVELATION

A. THERE ARE MANY THEORIES ABOUT THEIR IDENTITY ESPECIALLY FROM THOSE WHO

“SPIRITUALIZE” THE SCRIPTURES

B. NOTICE THE TEXTUAL EVIDENCE CONCERNING THESE TWO WITNESSES

The text tells us that the miracles of these two witnesses are similar to the miracles of Moses and Elijah

CONCLUSION – Change has to be in a person’s heart and soul, and it has to be a personal
relationship with Jesus. Will you give your heart to Jesus today?
